The first to leave the group in 1998View Cart, Geri went on to have a successful solo career. At the June press conference announcing their reunion, Victoria was overheard saying that Geri “is just lucky we let her back in.” And she can irritate the others during rehearsals. “Geri has a bad habit of stopping everyone mid-song because she has to meditate,” the insider reveals. “Victoria and the rest are annoyed with her New Age stuff.”
The only one who seems immune to the bad vibes is Dancing With the Stars’ Melanie Brown, 32. “She loves all of the girls,” says a confidant. “She is the peacemaker.” But lately, it’s been an uphill battle.
“It’s so different from 10 years ago,” says the insider. “They were always making fun of each other then, but it was gende and Victoria was fond of saying they really looked out for each other. Now, they’re just looking out for ways to get at one another.”
But their backup dancers deny that the girls are fighting. “They are always joking and playing during rehearsal,” dancer Vctor Rojas, 27, tells In Touch. “There are no feuds going on with them.”
